Business operators want quick end of Thailand's political protest

BANGKOK, December 21 (TNA) - The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) says that business operators want the ongoing domestic political protest to be ended quickly. FTI Chairman Payungsak Chartsutipol told journalists that business operators are concerned over the prolonged political strife in Thailand, as it now has impacts on the national economy and weakens people's purchasing power. The FTI chief acknowledged that local business operators, especially those of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), began having liquidity problems, resulting in a delay in their additional investment. According to the FTI chief, the Thai Industries Sentiment Index (TISI) made its new low in 24 months last month, from November 2011, standing at 90.3 points, down from 92.8 in October 2013.(TNA)
