Central bank buys USD 16 million with rate of MNT 2482

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On February 21, Bank of Mongolia held its regular foreign exchange auction and bought USD16.0 million with a closing rate of MNT2482.00. In spot trading, Commercial banks asked weighted average rate of MNT2481.97 for USD26.5 million, weighted average rate of MNT361.7 for CNY12.0 million and bid weighted average rate of MNT2476.97 for USD26.5 million and bid weighted average rate of MNT354.15 for CNY27.0 million respectively. In swap and forward trading, Bank of Mongolia received selling bid offers of USD20.0 million of USD swap agreements from commercial banks, however the central bank did not accept the offers.
