China Interested to Cooperate with Surakarta, Central Java

Solo, C Java, June 12 (Antara) -- The government of China has expressed interest in cooperating in the tourism sector with the government of Surakarta, Central Java. "Cooperation can be established in the field of tourism. Many Chinese tourists come to Jakarta and Bali. Later, we will urge them to visit Solo because this city has a lot of beautiful locations," Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Xie Feng said during his visit to Surakarta here on Friday. Xie Feng added that flights for the Jakarta-Solo-Bali route should be introduced. "That way, Chinese tourists will be able to stop in Solo and then take flights to Bali," he pointed out. Moreover, Mayor of Surakarta F. X. Hadi Rudyatmo welcomed the Chinese government's wish to establish cooperation with the Surakarta administration. Earlier, the Surakarta government had explored potential for cooperation with the city of Xian. Cooperation with the city of Xian can be realized, the mayor had affirmed. "We have seen the technopark in Xian and the spatial arrangement of the city, among other aspects," Rudyatmo noted. Furthermore, Regional Secretary of Surakarta Budi Suharto observed that there were possibilities to cooperate with Xian city in the field of technology. "Surakarta city has the Solo Technopark that is based on the same concept as that in Xian," he stated. However, the technopark in Xian is more reliable and, with its variety of modern equipment, is capable of producing world-class goods.
