China, Thailand to ink new trade deal

BANGKOK, December 1 (TNA) - China has agreed to buy a large amount of rice and natural rubber from Thailand, with the government-to-government agreement set to be inked by the end of this year. The Thai Ministry of Commerce announced on Monday that under the agreement, China will buy two million tons of rice and 200,000 tons of natural rubber from Thailand. The ministry said that the new pact was reached when representatives of Chinese state enterprises visited Thailand for trade talks last month and both sides plan to sign the new trade agreement late this month.
