Chinese planes face severe competition in coming Iran

TEHRAN, Nov. 19 (MNA) – Minister of Roads and Urban Planning is in China to examine potentials of Chinese companies to contribute to Iran’s air industry. Mr. Abbas Ahmad Akhundi heads a delegation to China. On Saturday, he visited important Chinese industrial centers. One such center is Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd., Chinese state-owned aerospace manufacturer and talked to company’s managing director. Akhundi conditioned possible Chinese planes’ coming to Iran on the necessity that they should obtain international standards of safety and licenses, since Iran’s air industry was highly competitive. Akhundi’s entourage received presentations by the staff of the COMAC on their simulation labs, design, and electronic sections. His entourage arrived in Beijing on Monday. Akhundi also met with Chen Zhengao, Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and Li Xiaopeng, Minister of Transport, and Jin Liqun head of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). Akhundi’s agenda also had a visit to Chinese Railroad Company (CREC). The company is the greatest state company in infrastructure. The 200-strong delegation sat in Iran’s embassy building in Beijing to discuss investment opportunities in transportation sector, among other programs in agenda.
