Coal Mongolia to attract World giants

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ “Coal Mongolia” forum for international investors, to be held on April 9-10 in Ulaanbaatar, will be attracting 600 decision-makers from Mongolia and other countries along with 2000 people to see its exhibition, according to the registering information. The guests include the general directors of Energy Resource LLC, Sumitomo Corporation, and Shenhua Energy Company, as well as the representatives from world’s mining giants such as ING, BNP Paribas, Anglo American Plc, Peabody Energy, Sinopec and POSCO, which are interested in investing to the mega projects of infrastructure. It is on the spotlight that high-rank government representatives such as the Minister of Mining R.Jigjid , the Minister of Energy D.Zorigt and the Minister M.Enkhsaikhan are to provide information for the investors, and to discuss with them directions and resolutions of the coal sector development. The investors’ forum aims at strengthening Mongolia’s status in Asia’s coal sphere. This year is the fifth anniversary of the forum. Mongolia has a coal reserve of 173 billion tonnes.
