Cognac mayor highlights cooperation with Azerbaijani city of Tovuz

Paris, December 25, AZERTAC Mayor of the French city of Cognac Michel Gourinchas has highlighted his city`s cooperation with Azerbaijan`s Tovuz. In an interview with local Charente Libre newspaper following his four-day visit to Azerbaijan, Gourinchas said relations between Cognac and Tovuz are developing under a bilateral sistership agreement. The Cognac mayor described Azerbaijan as a strategic country, and also spoke of France-Azerbaijan relations. Gourinchas highlighted the fourth International Wine Festival which was held in the Azerbaijani city of Ganja. He also provided an insight into cooperation between Tovuz-Baltiya winemaking company and Cognac-based Meukov firm. Gourinchas said he also visited Tovuz where he attended a ceremony to lay a foundation stone for a Tovuz-Cognac friendship park. Tovuz and Cognac signed a protocol to become sister cities in 2014.
