Concur Empowers AirAsia To Soar New Heights With Cloud Computing

KUALA LUMPUR, May 19 (Bernama) -- A unit of German multinational software corporation SAP SE, Concur Technologies Inc (Concur), has collaborated with AirAsia to implement an integrated travel and expense solution for the local carrier's subsidiary, AirAsia Global Shared Services. In a statement Thursday, SAP said the solution provides business process outsourcing services to AirAsia Group's 17,000 employees and is expected to be completed by early July this year. It said the solution from Concur comes with the Policy Audit, Travel Allowance and value-added tax (VAT) Configuration modules on cloud for AirAsia Global Shared Services. It is aimed at reducing travel and expense management impact on all of AirAsia Group employees, in particular for AirAsia Global Shared Service and Finance staff. "This ability to raise travel approvals, make and pay for hotels and claim expenses all through a single app, is a revolution from our current, outdated manual process. "The future addition of flight bookings for employees will complete the value chain, reflecting innovative cross-collaboration opportunities when these benefits are available to all Concur clients," said Chief Executive Officer AirAsia Global Shared Services, Naresh Alagan. He said the solution's key enabling benefit will be to streamline and abbreviate AirAsia’s travel expense process. "We are pleased to provide Air Asia Global Shared Services with best-in-class integrated travel and expense management solutions and services," Managing Director, Concur South East Asia Madanjit Singh said. Meanwhile, SAP Malaysia Managing Director Terrence Yong said the cloud solution from Concur enables the local carrier to meet its key objectives of cost reduction, employee satisfaction and easier access to duty travel. "The aviation market here is facing intense competition from international carriers and pressure from aviation regulations for higher integration and efficiencies," he added. --BERNAMA
