Contracts for escorting ships along Northern Sea Route should be concluded until 2025 at minimum

ST. PETERSBURG, April 11. /TASS/. Contracts with subsoil users for escorting ships by Rosatom icebreakers along the Northern Sea Route should be concluded for a minimum period of up to 2025, but the most optimal contracts would be until 2030, Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev said in an interview with TASS at the International Arctic Forum. "We have received additional instructions from the President on priority actions to build the infrastructure, in particular, on the port of Sabetta, Utrenny terminal, and on making long-term contacts on cargo transportation - mutually binding agreements between subsoil users and Rosatom in order to build beneficial cooperation. This minimum should be until 2025. We would like to see at least 2030, but 2024-2025 is necessary," he said. It was reported earlier that Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to ensure before September 1 conclusion of long-term legally binding agreements on the volume and cost of transporting goods along the Northern Sea Route.
