Customs And Excise Receipts Reach 72 Pct Of Target

Jakarta, Sept 27 (Antara) - Indonesia`s customs and excise receipts in the year to September 23, 2013 reached Rp110.6 trillion, accounting for 72.2 percent of the target of Rp153.15 trillion in the revised 2013 state budget, according to the Finance Ministry. The customs and excise receipts slightly fell short of the internal target of Rp111.6 trillion set by the customs and excise directorate general, the ministry`s director of receipts and customs and excise regulations, Susiwijono Moegiarso, said on Thursday. The Rp110.6 trillion in customs and excise receipts consisted of import duties worth Rp21.75 trillion, excise duties worth Rp78.59 trillion and export duties worth Rp10.25 trillion. The import duties represented 70.62 percent of the target of Rp30.81 trillion, excise duties 75.04 percent of the target of Rp104.72 trillion and export duties 58.26 percent of the target of Rp17.6 trillion. Suswijono noted that only excise receipts outstripped the internal target of Rp76.36 trillion set by the directorate general thanks to tobacco production and excise tariff hikes in 2013. However, state receipts from export duties were far below the directorate general`s internal target of Rp12.84 trillion, he said. He predicted that state receipts from export duties at the end of this year will plunge below the target in the 2013 state budget due to low prices of crude palm oil and minerals in the global market. Though state revenues from import duties in the year to September 23, 2013 fell short of the directorate general`s internal target of Rp22.46 trillion, the target of import duty receipts in the revised 2013 state budget will be achieved thanks to an upward trend of imports in the second half of this year, he said. Until September 23, the directorate general has recorded import-related tax receipts at Rp128.82 trillion consisting of value added tax worth Rp96.04 trillion, luxury sales tax worth Rp5.83 trillion and income tax worth Rp26.94 trillion.
