DPM invites Chinese firms to invest in Thailand's EEC

BANGKOK, November 17 (TNA) - Deputy Prime Minister Air Chief Marshal Prachin Janthong has invited Chinese businesses to invest in the Thai government-backed Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), voicing the Thai administration's readiness to also support China's One Belf One Road Project. Air Chief Marshal Prachin made the invitation while meeting with and welcoming new Chinese Ambassador to Thailand H.E. Lyu Jian at the Government House in Bangkok on Friday. The deputy premier also informed the newly-appointed Chinese top envoy that Thailand is pleased to continue cooperating with China on education and research development projects in a more concrete aspect. On the occasion, the deputy prime minister stressed that Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha also wants to work together with China constructively through the development of other infrastructure connectivity projects in the region, including land, marine and air transport plans, apart from the One Belf One Road Project. Besides, the Thai government eyes to cooperate more with Beijing on information communication technology (ICT), trade, investment, tourism and cultural connectivity projects. (TNA)
