DSA Is A Getaway Into Asian Market - International Security Firms

KUALA LUMPUR, April 19 (Bernama) -- The Defence Services Asia Exhibition and Conference (DSA) has become a platform for international security firms to penetrate Asian market and beyond. In a statement here Monday, Brazilian Defence and Security Industry Association (ABIMDE) said the Asian market offered great perspectives for expanding the Brazilian firms abroad. "Having Brazilian companies at the DSA is crucial for us to show how we can provide valued-added products and services of the highest quality," said Executive Vice-President Admiral Carlos Afonso Pierantoni. He said the number of Brazilian companies participating in the 15th DSA edition had doubled to 10 firms from that of last year. "We are going to present high-tech products and services such as system integration, anchoring devices, non-lethal equipment and light weaponry," Pierantoni said. ABIMDE's participation in DSA 2016 was in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, he added. Meanwhile, the US-based private defence company, Endeavor Robotics, a specialist in mobile robot industry, expressed their intention to capitalise on opportunities offered by emerging markets. "We anticipate substantial growth over the next several years, both domestically and with our international customers," said Endeavor Robotics President Tom Frost in a separate statement. He added that the company was developing innovative technology, including the next generation of life-saving robot technologies, which would propel its growth and maintain Endeavor Robotics' position as an industry leader. A total of 29 countries have put up pavillions at DSA 2016 with representatives from Belarus, Bosnia, Canada, The Netherlands, the Russian Federation, the United Arab Emirates and Ukraine making their maiden debut. Billed as one of the world's top five international defence and security show', DSA 2016 runs today until Thursday at the Putra World Trade Centre. --BERNAMA
