E. Azarbaijan Prov. Exports Goods Worth $1bn

Tabriz, Oct 22, IRNA - Head of the East Azarbaijan province's Industry, Mine and Trade Organization Mohammad Jafar Ozmaei said on Sunday that goods worth one billion dollars were exported via customs offices of East Azarbaijan border points during the first half of the year. He told reporters that despite western sanctions and limitations on Iranian exports, the diversity of exported items is notable. Saying his province increased the number of its target markets during the first half of the year to 85 countries, he said export is the axis of development and a means for neutralizing sanctions. Pointing to the Supreme Leader's designation of the current Iranian year as the 'Year of National Products and Iranian Labor and Investment' , the official said increasing incomes from non-oil exports is an effective means to make domestic economy resistant against crises./end
