East Java's Non-Oil And Gas Export Increases Toward AEC

Surabaya, E Java, Sept 3 (Antara) - Non-oil and gas export of East Java to many Southeast Asian countries has increased during January to July 2014 in anticipation of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), an official reported here on Wednesday. "East Java`s export of non-oil and gas products to Singapore had increased to 29.8 percent, or US$466.570 million during January to July, which is higher than that of the same period last year recorded at US$361.190 million," head of East Java`s Central Bureau of Statistics, M Sairi Hasbullah, stated. The export to Singapore has contributed 4.31 percent of the total exports of the province during the period. The export to Singapore in July 2014 was US$35.925 million. "The figure had decreased to 54.19 percent compared to that of the previous month, which recorded at US$78.423," Sairi said. The export to Thailand had also increased during January to July 2014 to 20.85 percent, or US$28.211, compared to that during the same period in 2013, which was US$231.859 million. Overall, between January and July 2014 non-oil and gas exports of East Java to ASEAN countries had reached to US$1.477 billion. This realization has increased to 11.50 percent compared to that of the same period in 2013, which was US$1.325 billion. "In July 2014 alone, non-oil and gas exports of East Java to ASEAN countries reached to US$171.925 million or increased to 26.27 percent compared to that of June, which amounted to US$233.189 million," Sairi noted. Cumulatively, between January and July 2014, East Java`s non-oil and gas exports had reached to US$10.830 billion, or up 26.17 percent, compared to that in the same period last year, which recorded at US$8.584 billion. "Meanwhile, the cumulative value of exports in January to July 2014 recorded at US$11.313 billion, or up to 28.72 percent, compared to that in the same period last year, which amounted to US$7.531 billion," Sairi added.
