EC Examines Gov'ts Measures To Thwart Oil Sanctions

Tehran, July 8, IRNA -- The Expediency Council on Saturday began examination of the measures adopted by the government to thwart the oil sanctions. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and several cabinet ministers took the government's contingency plan to the Expediency Council to thwart the oil sanctions. Minister of Economy and Finance, oil minister, minister of commerce and industry and Governor of Central Bank of Iran Mahmoud Bahmani explained the government's contingency plan to neutralize the western sanctions. In the meeting, they studied the country’s economic status as well as the efforts made by the enemies on toughening economic sanctions against Iran. Meanwhile, the President and his cabinet ministers gave separate reports to the Expediency Council and discussed how to deal with the threats made by the enemies, economic sanctions, propaganda and psychological warfare. They explained the methodology to maintain the balance in supply and demand. After hearing the report, Chairman of the Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani and other councilmen thanked the cabinet ministers for adopting effective measures to deal with western hostility./end
