ECO Regional Planning Council Meet Opens In Tehran

Tehran, Feb 23, IRNA – The 24th Regional Planning Council meeting (RPC) of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) kicked off here on Sunday in the presence of Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi. The ECO Secretary-General Shamil Aleskerov and the ECO representative members are attending the four-day event. The meeting will wrap up on Feb 26. ECO comprises ten member states including Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. It was initially founded by Iran, Turkey and Pakistan in 1962 but in 1993 included other regional countries./end
