Economy: QNB in Talks to Buy Turkish Bank

Doha, October 12 (QNA) - Qatar National Bank (QNB) announced Sunday that it is holding talks to buy Finansbak, National Bank of Greece's Turkish subsidiary. The bank said in a statement published today on Qatar Exchange that "no material developments necessitating respective disclosures have taken place." Adding that it will "make the necessary disclosures to Qatar Exchange as required, which will represent the only official statements on this matter." QNB is Qatar's first ever commercial bank, established in 1964. Some 50% of it is owned by Qatar Investment Authority, and the rest is held by the private sector. (QNB)
