Education Ministry, QCB Organize Seminar on Raising Economic Awareness

Doha, May 02 (QNA) - The State of Qatar, under the leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, has witnessed in recent years major development growth in various fields, a matter which placed it at the center of attention internationally and globally, said HE Governor of Qatar Central Bank Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud Al-Thani. Speaking at a seminar organized by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in collaboration with the Qatar Central Bank and Qatar Banking Studies, Business Administration Independent Schools (boys and girls) today entitled 'raising economic awareness among students', His Excellency added that optimal investment in human resources and the development of active and qualified Qatari personnel in various fields was the central pillar of this development boom. HE QCB Governor highlighted Qatar's efforts in training young people and equipping them with knowledge to fully enable them to play their role in society, adding that education is a top priority for the state and that the Qatar Vision 2030 focused on preparing Qatari citizens to contribute to economic development. The seminar is part of a series of events that reflect the strong link between economy and education and underscore the strong partnership between these two sectors which are the main pillar in the progress and stability of the country, he said. HE the Governor of the Qatar Central Bank pointed to the partnership between the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Qatar Central Bank, saying that one of these partnerships was the launch of Qatar Banking Studies, Business Administration Independent School for Boys in 2010. His Excellency stressed that the school has achieved a great success, and has graduated qualified financial and economic cadres. He added that under the directives of HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser and the support of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education another Qatar Banking Studies, Business Administration Independent School for Girls was launched during 2015- 2016. HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud Al-Thani hoped that the seminar would achieve the desired results and contribute to raising awareness and preparing economic cadres that can participate in sustainable development and achieve Qatar National Vision 2030. The seminar discussed a number of topics including the preparation of personal budget, core concepts of banking, Qatar's economy, and electronic economic crimes. (QNA)
