Envoy: More Trade Can Strengthen Ties Between Iran-Turkey

Agri, Turkey, Nov 18, IRNA – Iran Ambassador to Turkey, in the fourth meeting of Iran-Turkey border provinces governor generals, said that more trade between the two countries will strengthen bilateral ties. Bahman Hosseinpour in a joint meeting of trade officials and businessmen from Iranian provinces of West Azerbaijan, East Azerbaijan and Ardebil with related officials of Turkish border provinces in the Agri province said that the backbone of mutual relations between the two countries is economic and trade exchanges. He said ties between Iran and Turkey is expanding, adding that in spite of differences on a number of international issues, bilateral ties in the field of trade is developing. Hosseinpour called creation of joint industrial township between Iran and Turkey as an effective element in strengthening economic ties. He said many obstacles and problems in this way have been eliminated by both sides officials. He appreciated effective role of West Azerbaijan governor general in the process of establishment of the township. The fourth meeting of Iran-Turkey border provinces governor generals kicked off its work here in Agri on Saturday in the presence of Vice-president in International Affairs Ali Saeedlo and Turkey's Minister of Development Cevdet Yilmaz./end
