Eurasian Economic Union plans to discuss possible economic cooperation with Syria - official

MOSCOW, November 12. / TASS /. The Eurasian Economic Union / EAEU/ plans to hold talks on possible trade and economic cooperation with Syria but the establishment of a free trade zone has not been discussed yet, EAEU Trade Minister Andrei Slepnev told reporters. "It is probably not the right time to talks about stabilization. However, in the near future we plan to hold a number of meetings with Syrian representatives to discuss possible formats for the start of interaction between the Union and Syria," he said. Slepnev also said that so far there have been no initiatives on creating a free trade zone with Turkey. EAEU now comprises Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Read more
