Europe releases South Pars properties

TEHRAN, Nov. 19 (MNA) – An official announced that Spain and France have released equipment and properties of two South Pars phases. Project Director of Phases 20 and 21 at Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) Alireza Ebadi pointed to release of some ordered goods and equipment for South Pars phases saying “for Phases 20 and 21, a number of foreign companies were put in charge of producing the required accoutrements and facilities.” The official noted that Asian and European firms refused to deliver goods to Iran once international sanctions were imposed; “nevertheless, numerous foreign firms called for resumption of activities and cooperation with Iran upon ushering in the post-JCPOA era.” “Presently, the blocked propertied of South Pars Phases 20 and 21 have been released,” said Ebadi adding that companies from France, Spain and Japan as well as a number of multinational firms have manufactured and delivered the required apparatuses for the two joint phases including solenoids, pumps, valves and refinery equipment. He went on to stress that another multinational company has also transferred special tanks for Phases 20 and 21 now that legal restrictions have been removed; “with the beginning of a new era after implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), contracts have been inked for construction of a series of modern and technological equipment to be exploited in the two phases,” he continued. The construction project of South Pars Phases 20 and 21 is now 90 per cent through, underlined Ebadi estimating that the gas output capacity of the two phases will reach more than 50 million cubic meters per day. Officials at Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) had previously announced that Germany’s Siemens AG had released some equipment and properties of South Pars phases adding “turbo compressors of Phases 17 and 18 in South Pars field, which were frozen in Europe and the United Arab Emirates, have been freed." The officials have also reported on orders made for ethane-recovery turbo expanders to be used in developmental plans in Phases 19, 20 and 21 now that international restrictions have been removed.
