Expert: Iran-Oman potentials abundant for expansion of ties

Tehran, March 12, IRNA—An expert of Iranˈs Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) underlined that the grounds are ready for expansion of ties trade relations between Iran and Oman. ˈA sum of $102 million worth of goods has been exported to Oman and $63 million has been imported from Oman,ˈ Expert of Oman and Qatar at TPO Massoud Hassani said. He noted that Iran and Oman can expand their mutual cooperation in trade field due to their proximity. ˈSince Sistan and Balouchestan is close to Oman, we can broaden our relations with that country given the development of infrastructure of Chabahar port,ˈ Hassani said. He underlined that Oman can be used as a bridge for entering markets of eastern Africa. ˈOman can be used as an alternative market for us and we can transfer some of our trade relations with the United Arab Emirates to Oman,ˈ the expert said. Hassani underlined that given the development of Omanˈs infrastructure, Iran can cooperate with that country in the field of export of technical-engineering services in the fields of road construction, oil and gas, bridge construction, mines exploitation and construction of power plants.
