Exports of Russian gas to China could reach 100 bln cubic meters per year - CNPC Deputy Director General

China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) expects the volume of gas supplies from Russia to China to reach 100 bln cubic meters, CNPC Deputy Director General at Policy Research Office Wang Zhen told journalists Wednesday. "Future deliveries volume could reach up to 100 bln cubic meters per year," he said. According to the memorandum of understanding in cooperation in the field of natural gas signed on June 24, 2009, by Gazprom and CNPC, Russian gas will be delivered to China by two directions - western and eastern. The eastern route involves the development of new fields in Eastern Siberia, firstly Chayanda field and Kovykta gas field. Power of Siberia gas pipeline is going to be built starting from these fields, which later will be connected with the gas pipeline Sakhalin - Khabarovsk - Vladivostok.
