Finance Minister meets banking officials

Lima, Oct.9 (BNA): The Minister of Finance, H.E. Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, held talks with a number of senior officials of BNP Paribas, Citi, HSBC and Standard & Poor's. The meeting came at the sidelines of the 2015 Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) held in Lima, Peru. Latest developments with regard to financial and banking sectors were discussed during the meeting. The Minister hailed the distinguished contribution of the global financial institutions represented in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He referred to them as a major component of the financial sector of the country and a clear demonstration of its eminent role as a regional centre of financial, banking and business services.
