First batch of new train bogies arrives in Thailand

BANGKOK, June 29 (TNA) - The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) reports that the first batch of 39 new bogies from China has arrived in Thailand at Laem Chabang Deep Seaport in the eastern Chon Buri Province and they will be officially received next month. SRT Governor Wuthichart Kalyanamitra told journalists that he has been informed by China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC) or China CNR Corporation Limited (CNR) that it had already delivered the first batch of 39 bogies, out of a total of 115 bogies ordered by SRT, at the Laem Chabang Deep Seaport since last weekend. Wuthichart said the first batch of 39 bogies will be used, by the next 2017 fiscal year, for round-trip express trains on four routes, including Bangkok-Chiang Mai, Bangkok-Ubon Ratchathani, Bangkok-Nong Khai and Bangkok-Hat Yai. According to the governor, SRT will gradually receive the rest of the new bogies by September 2016. (TNA)
