First Russian-Vietnamese industrial fair sees 120 Russian companies participating

HANOI, December 14. /TASS/. The first Russian-Vietnamese industrial fair Expo-Russia Vietnam 2015, which kicked off in Hanoi on Monday, presents 10 Russian regions as they exhibit their investment and innovation projects, as well as around 120 companies and over 200 businessmen from such sectors as energy, construction, geology, oil and gas sector, chemicals, agricultural sector, education and medicine. Expo-Russia Vietnam 2015 is timely and demanded, Russia’s ambassador to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Konstantin Vnukov said in his opening speech. "It’s aimed at promotion of trade and investment cooperation between our countries, presentation of export opportunities of local enterprises at such a huge and promising market as Vietnam," Vnukov said, adding that such events "substantially contribute to expansion of cooperation between business circles of the two countries." The expo exhibition presents export-oriented innovation products and services, promising developments of enterprises, higher education institutions and scientific organizations in such sectors as energy, machine engineering, transport, agriculture, telecommunications, chemicals, medicine and a number of other high-tech industries. According to Russia’s trade representative in Vietnam Maksim Golikov, Expo-Russia Vietnam 2015 will be another channel of new Russian companies entering the country’s market as well as will enable Vietnamese business to find reliable partners in the Russian Federation in the field of investment and supplies to the Russian market. He added that over the last 5 years trade volumes between Russia and Vietnam have been rising by an average of 20% per year. In the first 11 months of the current year Russia’s export to Vietnam rose by 30%. "Currently, Russia is among top ten biggest trade and economic partners of Vietnam in Europe and accounts for up to 10% of the country’s trade turnover with European countries," Golikov said.
