Fisheries Make Up For $28m Exports

Tehran, Feb 14, IRNA – Director General of Fisheries Department in Mazandaran Province Hassan Habibnejad said on Wednesday that in the first 10 months of the year (started on March 21, 2012), fisheries made up for dlrs 28 million exports. Habibnejad said that 7,363 tons of fish were exported to the Asian and European countries. 7,125 tons out of the total were cultured fish valued $27.966 million. He said that also 156 kg of cultured caviar, valued $136,000, 221 tons of frozen kilka fish, valued $177,000, and 17 tons of cultured sturgeon, valued $204,000, were exported in the period. He said the Iranian fish products were destined to the UAE, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, France, Germany and Switzerland./end
