Fisheries Sector Needs To Develop Young Enterpreneurs

Jakarta, Nov 28 (Antara) - All parties need to encourage new entrepreneurs to develop fish products in the fisheries sector, Director General for Cultured Fish Affairs of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Slamet Soebjakto, said. "Cultured fish sector is a promising business," the director general said in a written statement made available to Antara here on Friday. He said that his office would encourage and develop young entrepreneurs to become independent in the sense that they would be able to get access to capital sources like banks and others. Slamet said that the development pattern in the empowerment of cultured fish entrepreneurs is designed to form independent reliable entrepreneurs. "Young and beginner entrepreneurs are expected to become more developed and qualified entrepreneurs who are able to get cheap financial resources after they get guidance and directives from the central and regional governments," he said. Therefore, he hoped that young entrepreneurs in the fisheries sector would become advanced businessmen with good business management and are able to get access to commercial credits and to provide guidance to their fellow beginner entrepreneurs. He said that independence in the fisheries business now is badly needed in an effort to make fisheries products able to compete in the free market.
