Five Malaysian Companies To Exhibit Products At DelhiWood 2017

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 (Bernama) -- Five Malaysian timber companies will exhibit their products at DelhiWood 2017, one of Asia's largest trade fairs, from March 1-4 in India, said the Malaysian Timber Council (MTC). In a statement Monday, the MTC said the five are PMH Timber Industries Sdn Bhd, KF Door Sdn Bhd, Latitude Tree Furniture Sdn Bhd, Sri Ledang Sdn Bhd and iMaskayu Door Export (M) Sdn Bhd. Its Chief Executive Officer, Dr Abdul Rahim Nik, said Malaysian timber products were sought-after in India for its high quality and durability and local timber-based manufacturers should capitalise on what India has to offer. "India has been top three major export markets for Malaysia's timber products. Malaysia exported RM1.41 billion timber and timber products to India as of November 2016," he said. He said India primarily imported logs, sawn timber, wooden furniture, builders’ carpentry and joinery, particleboard, fibreboard and plywood. The biennial DelhiWood 2017 would host over 450 global brand leaders from 30 countries with exhibitors for this year expected to increase by 20 per cent from the previous fair. -- BERNAMA
