Five sweetening units in largest SP phase refinery to be launched by yearend

Tehran, Nov 15, IRNA - Managing Director of Pars Oil and Gas Company Ali Akbar Shabanpour says five sweetening units of South Pars Phase 12 refinery will become operational by the end of the current year (March 20). Speaking to IRNA, Shabanpour further remarked that two sweetening units of Phase 12 refinery by receiving sour gas from the fifth nationwide pipeline will be launched by the end of Aban (November 21). He said it is expected that a branch of the fifth nationwide pipeline will be constructed for transfer of gas to the Phase 12 refinery. Shabanpour had earlier pointed to the operation of two new platforms of the largest phase of South Pars prior to the beginning of winter and said with the full operation of Platforms B and C in Phase 12 in the calendar month of Azar (November/December) total gas production of the largest South Pars phase will increase to 60 to 65 million cubic meters on daily basis. He said installation and hookup operations of the two B and C platforms have been completed and the platforms are in pre-operation stage. Shabanpour noted that with the full operation of Platforms B and C their gas production will begin in the month of Azar. He said after the construction of the fourth platform and with the full operation of Phase 12, some 81 million cubic meters of sweet gas will be injected to the nationwide network per day. Phase 12 is the largest phase of South Pars oil and gas field in terms of volume of work, investment and production.
