FM Official Introduces List Of Banks, Institutes Implementing Geneva Accord

Tehran, Jan 27, IRNA – Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for political affairs Hamid Baeedinejad on Sunday introduced list of banks and institutions implementing Geneva Accord. The Foreign Ministry has set up a secretariat monitoring implementation of the nuclear deal. Baeedinejad is administering the secretariat. He said that the first meeting of the secretariat was held in presence of representatives of eight ministries adding that he provided the participants with a list of the banks and institutes assigned by executive panel of the nuclear deal comprised of the US and European sanctions experts. Baeedinejad told IRNA that new opportunities were provided in various fields, including oil, petrochemicals, exports and imports of food supplies, medicine, airplane and auto parts, smooth running of banking operations and transactions by the financial institutes. He said that easing sanctions created an opportunity for trade and business deals calling for coordination of the ministries with the secretariat to ensure success of the banking transactions. The US had not imposed sanctions on food and medicines formally, but, the banking sanctions on Iran have actually made impossible to open up Letters of Credit for food and medicines. He said all banks, not subject to sanctions, and private banks, including Pasargad, Parsian, Keshavarzi, Karafarin, Maskan and other state banks can resume operation and open up LCs. He said that he briefed representatives from Central Bank of Iran, Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Civil Aviation Organization, as well as Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade, Ministry of Oil, Ministry of Agricultural Jihad and the Ministry of Health and Medical Education./end
