Foreign investors having confidence in Thailand

BANGKOK, Oct 31 (TNA) -- Although Thailand has lowered its economic growth in 2015 to 2.8 per cent, foreign investors who are members of the Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Thailand (JFCCT) still have confidence in the kingdom and would continue to invest, said chairman of JFCCT Stanley Kang. Mr Kang’s remarks were made after holding a meeting with Industry Minister Atchaka Sibunruang on the problem of shortage of experienced workers faced by industrial players in the country. Foreign investors understand well that Thailand’s economy depends largely on exports and they account 70 per cent of the country’s gross domestic product, he reportedly told Ms Atchaka. But most countries worldwide are encountering export problems, said Mr Kang, adding that there are positive signs that Thailand’s economy would recover next year. Ms Atchaka said she had briefed Mr Kang on the Thai government’s investment policy. Ms Atchaka said she had told him to compile information on the shortage of skilled workers and personnel so that she would inform the Education Ministry to produce knowledgeable workers which could meet demands by industrial entrepreneurs.
