Tehran, May 15, IRNA - Former French prime minister Michel Rocard said on Monday that the new French government welcomes expansion of trade cooperation between Iran Khodro Industrial Group and Peugeot Co. Rocard made the remarks while touring Iran Khodro Industrial Group on Monday. The products of Iran Khodro company almost comply with international standards, he said. “In my opinion, purchase of seven percent of Peugeot shares by General Motors will leave no impact on trade ties between Iran Khodro Industrial Group and Peugeot Co.,” he said. Current level of technical cooperation between the two companies is satisfactory as both sides are committed to expanding such cooperation, he said. On upcoming talks between Iran and G5+1, he said France would like to act in line with the international community and will adopt a positive attitude towards Iran, he said. He expressed the hope that the upcoming talks would build confidence between the two sides and would lead to lifting of economic sanctions against Iran.
