Fourth Iranian Medicine Package Sent To Syria

Damascus, July 29, IRNA – Syrian Health Ministry took delivery of the fourth Iranian aid package including medicine and medical equipment on Sunday. The package was delivered in presence of a number of the Iranian officials including deputy ambassador to Syria, Abbas Golrou, and deputy health minister. Addressing the ceremony, Golrou said that Iran has so far dispatched four aid packages including pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and ambulances. Currently, Syria is suffering from sanctions and it is ethical duty to help the Syrian patients, he noted. Meanwhile, Syrian deputy health minister, Raef Yasin said that certain medicine for curing hard diseases are rarely found in Syria due to sanctions. He criticized the western governments for ignoring humanitarian principles by imposing sanctions on medical supplies when Damascus government is fighting with al-Qaeda terrorists. He said that the western governments pursue double-standard in international campaign against terrorism and do not regard al-Qaeda as enemy in case of Syria. He appreciated Iran for its humanitarian aid to Syria./end
