Free trade zone agreement with Iran may be initialed during visit of Iran’s President to Moscow - First Deputy PM Shuvalov

TEHRAN, February 21. /TASS/. Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov does not rule out that the free trade zone agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Iran may be initialed during the visit of Iran’s President Hasan Rouhani to Moscow in March. "Negotiations on details of this agreement [free trade zone of EAEU and Iran - TASS] will be held in Moscow on Wednesday. We will do everything possible in order to reach the initialing procedure for this agreement by the time of the visit of Iran’s President to Russia or we will agree upon main blocks of this agreement," Shuvalov told reporters. The parties discussed trading positions of interest for Iran and the EAEU in the agreement and measures to reduce tariffs. "We agreed whatever tariff protection remains, we will undertake not to use non-tariff restrictions in the flow of goods," Shuvalov said. Iran will present its amendments to the free trade zone agreement on February 27 and its delegation will come to Russia for talks on March 1, he added. Read more
