Freight and passengers in statistics

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the first eight months of this year, 13,691.2 thousand tons of freight and 2,620.0 thousand passengers (at duplicated counting) were carried by railway transport. Compared to same period of the previous year, the size of freight by railway rose by 401.5 thousand or 3.0%, whereas the number of passengers decreased by 120.6 thousand people-- 4.4%. The revenue from railway transport decreased 1.3 billion MNT or 0.5% to 278.7 billion MNT in the first eight months of this year against the previous year. Two thousand 735.8 tons of freight and 536.7 thousand passengers (at duplicated counting) were carried by air transport. The size of freight by the air transport increased by 46.5 tons or 1.7%, the number of the passengers increased by 15.3 thousand people or 2.9% against the previous year. The revenue from air transport increased 15.0 billion MNT or 10.7% to 154.1 billion MNT.
