French-Thai agreements inked in Paris

BANGKOK, June 25 (TNA) - The French and the Thai private sectors will work together in the digitalization and the visualization systems, as well as in the development of a Smart City in Thailand. Industry Minister Uttama Savanayana, who is accompanying Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha during his ongoing trip to the United Kingdom and France from June 20 to 25, told TNA that France-based Dassault Systèmes, an established software company, and Thailand-based PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (PTTGC), a subsidiary of PTT Public Company Limited (PTT), are scheduled to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the joint development of the digitalization and the visualization systems, while France-based Poma Company and Thailand-based Loxley Company are also scheduled to sign another memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the development of a Smart City in Paris on June 25 (local time). Besides, Uttama said, the visiting Thai delegation is scheduled to organize a forum on Transforming Thailand : Thailand-France Partnership in Paris on the same day (local time), opened by Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha, aimed to disseminate information on trade and investment opportunities in Thailand, including those in the Thai government-supported Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). At the forum, the minister stated, he is scheduled to deliver a speech on "Driving Transformation through Thailand 4.0 and Eastern Economic Corridor”, while other senior Thai officials, including Minister Attached to the Prime Minister's Office Kobsak Pootrakoo, Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI) Secretary-General Duangjai Asawachintachit and Eastern Economic Corridor Office (EECO) Secretary General Kanit Sangsubhan, are scheduled to join in a discussion session on France's investment opportunities in the EEC, during which a networking is expected to be created between the visiting Thai private sector and the French private sector.
