Gargash receives Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Yemen

ABU DHABI, 29th November, 2015 (WAM) -- Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, yesterday received Dr. Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Yemen, at the ministry. Cheikh Ahmed reviewed the latest development during his recent discussions in Muscat and the consultations held in Riyadh, as well as preparations for the Yemeni-Yemeni Dialogue to be held in Switzerland. On his part, Gargash emphasised that the UAE welcomes the approval accorded by the Yemeni government and other Yemeni parties to the implementation of the UN Security Council resolution No. 2216. He said that this shows that the political route has become matured, adding, "We look forward to building on the upcoming Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue to find a political framework based on the Gulf initiative and the Yemeni dialogue's outputs.
