Gas Exports To Iraq To Increase Iranˈs Annual Forex Income By $5b

Tehran, April 28, IRNA – Exports of Iranˈs natural gas to Iraq from South Pars fields would increase the countryˈs annual foreign exchange income by five billion dollars, Oil Minister Rostam Qasemi said Sunday. Addressing a group of directors from oil industries, the minister said Iranˈs natural gas exports to Iraq from two South Pars fields would begin at most by the next two months. Briefing the audience on the ministryˈs policies, Qasemi said Iran attracted over 24 billion dollars of foreign investments during the last Iranian calendar year (ended March 20, 2013). The minister referred to the figure as ˈunprecedented.ˈ He hoped that major developments would be made with the help of experts of Iranˈs oil industries during the current Iranian year which was designated as the ˈYear of Political Epic and Economic Epicˈ by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei./end
