Gazprom and Georgia discussed transit rates for Russian gas supplies to Armenia - Foreign Minister of Georgia

TBILISI, December 10. /TASS/. Russian gas holding Gazprom and Georgia discussed the rates for additional gas transit from Russia to Armenia in Luxembourg, Georgia’s foreign minister Georgy Kvirikashvili said on Thursday. "Negotiations with the Russian gas company were initiated in connection with arisen demand to transport an extra gas volume from Russia to Armenia through Georgia," Kvirikashvili said. "Several new factories were built in Armenia. The demand emerged for supplies of an additional gas volume for Russia and respective additional transit through Georgia," the foreign minister said. "Russia presented proposals on specific rates for transit of additional gas volumes and negotiations started on that matter," Kvirikashvili said. "Additional components of some kind of cooperation [between Gazprom and Georgia] may be considered after these talks," he added. Read more
