Gazprom signs shareholders' agreement on Nord Stream-2

VLADIVOSTOK, September 4. /TASS/. Russian gas giant Gazprom signed a shareholder agreement on the Nord Stream-2 in order to increase natural gas supplies to the European Union, a TASS correspondent reports. The document was signed by Chairman of the Board of Gazprom Alexey Miller, Chairman of BASF SE Kurt Bock, a board member of E.ON SE Klaus Schaefer, Deputy Director General of ENGIE Pierre Chareyre, OMV AG Chairman of the Board Dr. Rainer Seele and CEO of Royal Dutch Shell Ben van Burden. The project will be implemented by the joint project company New European Pipeline AG. In this company Gazprom" will hold 51 percent, E.ON, Shell, OMV and BASF / Wintershall - 10 percent each, Engie - 9 percent. Nord Stream 2 is the construction project of the natural gas pipeline with the capacity of 55 bln cubic meters from Russia to Germany across the Baltic Sea. The route and the entry point to the German gas transport system in Greifswald are intended to be the same as for the first Nord Stream gas pipeline launched in 2011. Read more
