Gems and Jewelry fair to be held in Sept

BANGKOK, April 26 (TNA) -- More than 400 booths have been booked for the 58th Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair to be held between September 7 – 11 and because of its huge success as the International Trade Promotion Department aims that the fair could become the world class trade event the next two years, said the department chief Malee Choklumlerd on Tuesday. Applications for gems and jewelry traders for the September fair were opened between April 1 – 20, Ms Malee told a press conference. Some 30,000 traders from overseas are expected to visit the fair and the department is optimistic that a lot of buying and business relations could be made at the fair. She said the upcoming fair would assist Thai jewelry and ornamental products and could finally help the country’s trade and exports to flourish in future. With an objective to make the fair one of the top three global fairs within 2018, the department which is the host for the 58th Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair would change the image as well as administration so that it could become more efficient and lively, Ms Malee added.
