Government promotes Thai restaurants overseas

BANGKOK, May 23 (TNA) - The government, through the Ministry of Commerce, further promotes Thai restaurants overseas to earn the country more revenues. Commerce Minister Apiradi Tantraporn told journalists that Thai restaurants have high potential to further grow internationally, thanks to famous and delicious Thai food; so, international management standards should facilitate the expansion of them overseas. Apiradi said Thai restaurants perform well in the service sector, which suits the present circumstance of the global economy and have played important roles in developed economies. Apiradi stressed that she has, thus, ordered his ministry's Department of Business Development to seriously promote Thai restaurants overseas. Consequently, the minister noted, the department and the Food Franchise Institute have introduced a 36-hour training course for Thai restaurant operators to learn management, technology, innovation, finance, accounting, regulations and the benefits of online marketing campaigns. Besides, there is now the “Happy Restaurant” campaign to present Thai food pleasure to international gourmets. (TNA)
