Govt Allocates Rp37 B To Central Lombok Fish Port

Jakarta, Dec 17 (ANTARA) - The government through the Maritime and Fisheries Ministry has allocated Rp37 billion to the revitalisation of the Teluk Awang fish port in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. "The funds are for the revitalisation of the fish port in the Central Lombok district," Fisheries and Maritime Minister Sharif Cicip Sutardjo said in Central Lombok on Sunday. He noted that in the 2012 budget year, the Maritime and Fisheries Ministry has allocated Rp29.49 billion to the development of various facilities and infrastructure in the fisheries sector. According to him, the revitalisation of the Teluk Awang fish port in Central Lombok will increase the production, processing and marketing of capture fisheries and will increase the fishermen`s income. "The presence of a fish port in Central Lombok is crucial for increasing and developing the capture-fisheries product in the district," the minister said.
