Govt To Emphasise Inclusiveness, Sustainability In Push For Developed Nation Status

KUALA LUMPUR, July 12 (Bernama) -- The government will continue to emphasise inclusiveness and sustainability towards achieving Malaysia's goal of becoming a developed and high income nation by 2020. Wahid Omar, the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Economic Planning)said it is the government's desire that no one is left behind in reaching for the goal. Speaking at the NRC11's fifth "Love My English" session, the minister said, sustainability is not all about the environment but also the way the government's finances are managed. "It will be managed in such a way that we will live within our means to achieve the high income nation status," he said Meanwhile, Wahid said as Malaysia was a leading trading nation in the world, it involved a lot of cross-border activities. "As such, it is important to master the English language, as it an international language," he added. He lauded the initiative taken by the NRC11 in collaboration with MyKasih Foundation and BluBrick to help students from low income families to be become more confident when communicating in English. The NRC11 is a club aspiring to positively impact communities and individuals across Malaysia by complementing the work of Prime Minister Najib Razak. --BERNAMA
