CHON BURI Oct 31 (TNA) -- The Board of Investment (BoI) will on November 23 provides details on tax incentives to be offered to investors by the government under the “super cluster” concept, approved by the cabinet earlier, said Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak. Mr Somkid told journalists during his visits to Laem Chabang Industrial Estate in the eastern province of Chon Buri and nearby Map Taput in Rayong province. He asked Thai and foreign entrepreneurs what problems they are facing and what should be done by the government to facilitate their businesses during his visits. He reiterated that key industries along the Eastern Seaboard which would be promoted under “super cluster” concept would help Thai industry sector sustain growth, especially those industries which use high technology. After listening to opinions of the industrial operators at the two sites, Mr Somkid said he found transportation in the areas is one of the obstacles due to ongoing road construction outside the estate. Industrial entrepreneurs also want the government to speed on dual rail construction between Chiang Khong in Chiang Rai to Nong Khai and connect with Laem Chabang port and to also develop border customs checkpoints to help facilitate goods transportation. Mr Somkid said Highways Department had confirmed him that 14-lane road in Chon Buri would complete next March while the provincial governor would find an alternative route to lessen heavy traffic during the construction.
