Gov't pulled ‘rural development package’ law out of archives

Ardebil, Nov 22, IRNA - Deputy First Vice-President for Rural Development and Deprived Areas Seyed Abolfazl Razavi said the government has pulled the ‘rural development package’ law out of archives and put it into effect. Speaking at a Rural Development Conference here on Thursday evening, Razavi further remarked that the package for rural development was approved in the Fifth Development Plan but unfortunately was shelved in the previous government. He said with the start of the administration of the 11th government and with regard to the importance of rural development, this package was brought out of the archives and put into effect. Razavi said that given the acquaintance of district officials, governors and councils of the regions the aforementioned package for rural development should be regulated by these people. He opined out that Iran is at an economic war with the arrogant powers, adding that under such circumstances through planning and opportunity building people and particularly village dwellers should participate in the development of villages which will result in strengthening of economic resistance of the country. Razavi pointed to implementation of a new project for the development of villages and said in this plan all rural residents as well as those in the cities eager to enforce different production projects in villages and cities with a population of minus 20 thousand can bring some money and form a cooperative. He referred to some social harms such as migration of the villagers and emergence of suburbs in large cities as a result of different problems especially unemployment, lack of enough revenue and underdevelopment in villages. He also pointed to such facilities as high speed Internet, title deed for rural houses and other welfare and services as the right of village people and said only by participation of the rural people such facilities can be maintained./end
