GPIC committed to boosting professional aptitudes

Manama, July 7 (BNA): Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) is hosting scholars from different educational organisations in Bahrain at its Academy of Leadership and Learning from July until August as part of its annual programme to support institutes of higher learning. During the programme, students will be provided insights into the operations of the company in line with their choice of specialities at college or university. They will also be given a chance to discover concepts related to the requirements of the labour market, which will help them to recognse the nature of the business. Students will see the real work environment and get a feel of the daily challenges workers and employees face and how they deal with them. GPIC President Abdulrahman Jawahery said the company receives students during the summer every year and it prepares early for each intake. "Experts at the Academy provide appropriate training programmes consistent with students’ specialties, which helps them develop leadership and communication skills as well as planning and teamwork," he said. "The GPIC is keen on providing such training so the students can contribute towards a bright future for themselves and for Bahrain." Jawahery said the company has already completed all necessary preparations to host a large number of male and female students. "Officials, Department Heads and the Management Team have contributed to the preparations. This included students’ distribution in appropriate Sections and Departments and qualified instructors being assigned to them," he said. Referring to the role of the company with regard to the training, he said the enthusiasm and appetite for work were very encouraging. "I found they are eager to learn and rapidly adjust to pressures of work. GPIC is well known for its team sprit employees working as one family and team work for the good of the company and for Bahrain," he said.
