GPIC president receives BPCS award

Manama, Oct. 7 (BNA): Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC)'s Managing Director Yousef bin Abdulrahman Al-Zamil congratulated Company President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery upon receiving award from the Bahrain Parents Care Society (BPCS). The award was delivered to Dr. Jawahery by the Society's Honorary President HRH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister HRH Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. The ceremony, also attended by Ministers, Ambassadors and dignitaries, was held to honour top Bahrainis for their contribution in the field of care for the elderly. Congratulating Dr. Jawahery, HRH Shaikh Khalifa said his contribution had made a difference to elderly Bahrainis’ lives. He said Dr. Jawahery had shown a keen interest in all aspects of community and humanitarian service and focussed his volunteer efforts in the service of a group that required financial and moral support. The People’s Award given to him by His Royal Highness the Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. Al Zamil said the Award is an honour for everyone in the Company, especially to the Board of Directors, which has given top priority to safety and security as well as social corporate responsibility to enable it to engage in activities and programmes that not only benefit the community but also the most needy groups among the elderly, the sick and children. The Managing Director applauded Dr. Jawahery’s concern with community service and his dedication in providing a large part of the Company’s efforts to support the community financially and morally. He also thanked Dr. Jawahery for taking a personal interest to work for the wellbeing of everyone. Dr. Jawahery expressed gratitude towards Al-Zamil and said his words of praise would encourage him to do even better in the time to come, under the leadership of GPIC Chairman Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, who is also Adviser to His Royal Highness the Prime Minister on Oil and Industrial Affairs. He said the honour is testimony to GPIC’s strategies, which have allowed him to contribute to humanity and the community. He credited Shaikh Isa with being the driving force behind the achievements and the encouragement and support of the Company’s governing council. Dr. Jawahery said the welfare of the Bahraini society would always bee a top priority for everyone at the Company. Those most in need include the elderly who spent their lives to build the country. He said the Company's employees would always join hands to help the community. Dr. Jawahery thanked HRH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, saying the society is the best role model for young Bahrainis’ humanitarian orientations. He pointed towards the good example set by the leadership to the needs of citizens.
