Hellenic Federation of Enterprises invite Turkish companies to privatization projects worth 50 billion euros

ISTANBUL (A.A) - November 28, 2011 - The Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) has made a call on Turkish companies and businessmen to participate in privatization projects worth 50 billion euros. In a statement released Monday, the Turkish Young Managers and Businessmen's Association (GYIAD) said that the association's head Burcu Akdari and members of the GYIAD Executive Board recently met with high level Greek businessmen in trips made to Athens and Thessaloniki. The visits were made to see opportunities for business during a period of economic crisis in Greece, the statement said. SEV's Coordinator in Athens, Ioannis Patsiavos, told the GYIAD delegation that many privatization projects would take place in Greece in the next few years. "Privatizations worth 50 billion euros would take place in Greece by the year 2015. This provides important opportunities for the business community of our neighbor Turkey," Patsiavos said. "29 airports, public banks, a portion of 3,500 islands, ports, marinas, highways, railways, energy facilities, telecommunication companies, water filtration facilities, natural gas facilities, lottery, postal services, mines, refineries, renewable energy facilities, golf fields, and hotels totalling 100 million square meters of land will be privatized in Greece," Patsiavos also said.
